Hong Kong Deposit Protection Board is an independent statutory body formed under the Deposit Protection Scheme Ordinance to oversee the operation of the Deposit Protection Scheme (DPS). The DPS protects the Hong Kong citizens’ deposits placed with Scheme members and the protection is statutory.
They wanted to educate Hong Kong citizens about the scheme and to encourage people to build a savings habit, especially the millennials.
